Original Southern California vintage poster: Venice West Café. #7 Dudley Ave. Venice, California original serigraph created by the artist Earl Newman. The poster boats that Venice West Café is open dusk to dawn and features Roman cooking; poetry, paintings, and chess. Original 1960's American posters that show the life style and concerts of Southern California are disappearing quickly. Lucky that Newman knew to use better quality paper on his artwork. This image was printed in a very low number. Fine condition. Mint
The artist, Earl Newman has been creating serigraphic prints since the 1960s. Starting with his iconic images from the beatnik era, he has continued to create art from his studio in Oregon. His posters for the Monterey Jazz Festival, from 1963 to 2012, are in the collection of the Smithsonian.
