Paul Emile Berthon 'Paul Berthon': Along with the art of Alfons Mucha, the lithographs of Paul Emile Berthon stand at the centre of our interpretation of Art Nouveau grace and beauty. Despite his very short life it is impossible not to rank Paul Berthon among the greatest masters of this entire turn-of-the-century movement.

Reference: Victor Arwas, Berthon and Grasset, Academy Editions, Paris, 1978.
Cataloglue # 61, Third and Final State, Arwas relates that the first state was printed in an edition of 50 impressions and that the second state consisted of 100 impressions. The third state was printed in an edition of 200. The stone was then effaced and thus no later impressions were struck.
