Original poster: A CARELESS WORD A NEEDLESS SINKING ORIGINAL VINTAGE WWII POSTER. Very good condition.

A careless word ... A needless Sinking. Linen backed original World War II vintage poster. Fischer was born in Munich and studied art at the respected Julian Academy in Paris before coming to the United States to live. He contributed some of his illustrations to Saturday Evening Post and Life. Fisher's work is more pictorial than most of the posters created during WWII. The detail of the composition and mood in A careless word…help distinguish Fischer as one of the government's finest artists during the war.

The period of the Second World War was a time when the United States Government waged a domestic campaign to remind civilians and military personnel that they be mindful of idle conversation concerning any matter that could be overheard by enemy agents both in the U.S. and abroad. In this graphic image we see the consequences of the enemy getting information that they should never have had. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
