Original Recoloration des Cheveux, L'Eau des Sirènes. Plate 153, artist Jules Cheret. Printed in 1899 as the Maitre d'Affiche. Fine condition. Presented in a 16" x 20" acid-free museum quality mat, suitable for framing. Fine condition. Never restored nor needed!
This lovely poster advertises hair color called "Mermaid Water." When it was first introduced, Cheret left the mermaid in the foreground bare breasted, and the censors recalled it, until he lengthened the siren's hair. It's still a bit sexy for advertising!
