One of Picasso's famous designs for the 1955 ceramics expo at Vallauris. He lived in this town in the Côte d'Azur for eight years, from 1948-1955, and gave the town, famed for its ceramics industry, a noble send-off when he departed. This one, with its wild typography, is the more exuberant of the handful of designs Picasso created.
