Artist: James John Audubon. Presented in a 16" x 20" acid free mat suitable for framing. Very good condition with minor wear on corners.

This print is Plate CIV from the second octavo edition published by V.G. Audubon in New York, 1852-54. It was first drawn from nature by J.W. Audubon, then transferred to stone by W.E. Hitchcock. The plate was printed and hand-colored by J.T. Bowen in Philadelphia.

The Quadrupeds of North America was Audubon's last major work before his passing. Several of the original paintings, including this one of the Jaguar, were actually completed by his son, John Woodhouse Audubon.
