Vittorio Grassi Biography

Italian.   Aliases: Vittorio Emanuele Giuseppe Grassi.   Professions: Painter; Illustrator.

Working at Banca d'Italia, the artist developed an interest in printing methods and nurtured his passion for painting, in particular landscapes. He later co-founded the Architecture Department at the University of Rome. Grassi created drawings and illustration for prestigious architectural publications, as well as designing furniture, glasswork and ceramics. The artist became successful also a set designer. His interest in graphic design produced a series of posters and stamps for various public agencies, including ENIT and the Italian Railroad System.
