Otis Shepard Biography

A commercial artist from Kansas, Otis Shepard became a resident of San Francisco in 1914 and for 31 years was art director for Wrigley Gum. He later moved to Belvedere, where he died in 1969.
In 1932, illustrator Otis Shepard received first prize in the Outdoor Advertising Association competition for a Wrigley's gum.   Reflecting the fashion vogue of the Thirties, it positiioned Wrigley's as a contempary product.
