Harry Rogers Biography

Harry Rogers (b. 20 November 1929 – d.19 May 2012)
Wife:  Valmai (Val) Rogers.  D. 23 Nov. 2012
Worked in the US with Jack Douglas Productions tv documentary before returning to Australia in 1956.
Freelance poster artist, graphic designer, art director and typographer. -
Rogers enjoyed a long and productive association with Qantas, designing the Qantas logo-font in the mid-1960s and devised many different poster series from the 1950s through to the 1970s -
Rogers also designed for other clients such as Avon, Coca Cola, Colgate, Kimberly Clarke.
Qantas remained Rogers' main client for more than 3 decades from the early 1950's thruogh to 1985.    He created not only the airline posters but was the director in charge of the Qanta Airways in-flight magazine; dafety brochures and more.
