Harry Eliott 1882-1959
French, Born in Paris
Charles Edmund Hermet largely worked as a cartoonist and a illustrator producing pictures for La Chasscur Francais. Pretending to be an Englishman he changed his name to Harry Eliott while adopting an Anglo-Saxon pseudonym helping him gain access to the British art market. Many of his watercolors were used to illustrate postcards.

He is known for his lithographs and stencils showcasing humorous drivers of automobiles, scenes of hunting with hounds, monks and others in the Victorian era in the style of English illustrators Randolph Caldecott or Cecil Aldin. Etchings and postcards that were drawn were edited by Barré and Dayez.
