Harold Von Schmidt Comes From The San Francisco Area Where He Was Born In 1893. When Not Working As Lumberjack, Cowhand Or Longshoreman He Attended Art Schools In California And New York. He Sold His First Picture In 1913--And Has Illustrated In Major Magazines Ever Since. He Was On The Olympic Rugby Team In 1920. He Was With The Air Force In World War Ii As An Artist-Correspondent. His Paintings Hand In Many Important Private Collections.
