Guy Arnoux Biography

Guy Arnous (1890 - 1951) achieved a mesaure of success with stencil-colored zinc plate prints and with decorative style paintins on historic themes or serial concepts, such a "Seven Capital Sins" of "Four Elements," and was an accomplished book illustrator as well.  However, he was at his best with the light touch:  long a prominent member of the Salon des Humoristes, he also helped to organize their annual feats.   AFrench artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He illustrated nearly 80 books, including several outstanding large format prints for printer, Devembez.

His poster Les Vins de Bourgogne, for a wine merchant, reflects both his preoccupation with historic motifs and his humorous approach to lithography.
