Eric Wilhelm Rohman Biography

Eric Rohman was born in 1891 in Nyköping
Early on that his great passion was drawing but that he was also interested in acting. He spent a couple of years of his youth as a student with Carl Wilhelmson at the Gothenburg Academy of the Arts.
Initially, he worked with linoleum painting with respect to printing in a regular book press. Rohman had experience of working with woodcuts, but linoleum was easier to work with and something that was used to a greater extent in rural printing houses. He developed this method in the service of the visual arts and in sizes not previously used. In addition, the material was cheap to work with.

He had painted more than 7,000 posters throughout his life.
