Original That Liberty Shall Not Perish From the Earth -- Buy Liberty Bonds Linen-backed original American World War One poster. America is on fire; the Statue of Liberty is in ruins; New York City is destroyed. The powerful visual images created for these World War 1 posters caused the American population to rally around the government to support and pay for this war. Such stark images brought the tragedy of Europe's fall to the eyes of what may happen in America. Rawls p. 227, Paret 103, IWM I p. 47, American Style 61, Darracott 35, Theofiles 161, Keay p. 90, Borkan p. 109, Rickards 61. Linen backed.

There were two sizes of this poster printed in 1918. There is a difference in the color and tone of the ink used in printing the posters. The small is darker, and the large version has more orange.

Linen backed in very good condition with some restoration of tears along the very top border.
