Saxoleine, Plate 13, artist: Jules Cheret. Framed original Maitre d'Affiche. Handwrapped silk mat; filet, closed corner frame and museum glass.
Closed corner frame, hand wrapped silk mat, filet, and museum glass. Cheret produced a number of posters for Saxoleine paraffin (lamp oil), and this is one of the best. This enchanting woman is radiant by the warm lamp light, and of course the kerosene bottle is nowhere to be seen-- only adding to the mystique.
