Mint, unrestored, excellent condition. Original lobby card: It Happened One Night (Columbia, 1934). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14"). #3.
It was Columbia Studio's big jump from "poverty row" into the big time, when this small budget comedy swept the young Academy Awards, winning Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Writing. Posters from this classic have always been scarce and this gorgeous title card is no exception. Mint. The left side does has the 1st prize academy of motion picture arts & sciences seal.
When Columbia Pictures re-released this film, they also reprinted the lobby cards donning the Academy Award's 1st. prize emblem noted on middle left-hand side of each card
Clark Gable comes to the aid of heiress Claudette Colbert, on the run from her father who is trying to stop her upcoming marriage.
This is a genuine lobby card MOVIE POSTER issued by the studio when the film was released and meant for theatrical display. This gorgeous card from the following year capitalizes on the Academy wins with a "1st prize" logo in the left border artwork and was used while the film was still in its original release.
