Pour le Triomphe. Original French World War 1 vintage military poster "Banque National de Credit". Napoleon had hoped to march his troops through the Arc de Triomphe in victory, but it was not completed until 1836, 15 years after his death. Here, Napoleonic era soldiers stream through the arch to join their contemporaries, swelling their ranks.
