Cherry Kobler - Columbia
31.5" x 47.5"
Evidently, Cherry Kobler was a woman who composed songs and sang them while accompanying herself on the piano. Why she chose a fruity dessert as a stage name is anyone's guess. According to the French files of Columbia Records, she recorded four songs during June and July of 1937, but other specifics of the recording session go unmentioned. Marrast enlivens this portrait of the blonde ivory-tickler with shining eyes, cherry-red fingernails and a wide-open regard cast directly at her potential audience. Columbia records
