Clearly an admirer of Mucha, Hingre worked in metal and stone sculpture in addition to being a graphic artist. [PAI-XIII, 255]
His posters rarely come up, even for auction. His known sculptures pay homage to many different animals, including mice, birds, and even bulls.
This poster shows a 12-month calender beneath the woman's bust. Note the zodiac symbols in the archway framing her, as well as the latticework of rope which wraps the upper portion of the design. There are also two very 3- dimensional butterflies visiting a flower at her shoulder. The calendar section in the bottom has legible names of every Saint for every day of the year.
The poster itself has been archivally mounted on linen. It has received minor restoration in some areas.
