Rare horizontal poster. Linen backed original in excellent condition. PRINTED BY: The WF Powers Company. An American World War one era poster combining The US Children's Bureau and the Woman's Committee of the Council of National Defense. The woman's committee of the Council of National defense had branches throughout the US during 1917-1922. It is well documented with active correspondences between woman during post war time. The artist of this interesting poster is Frances Luis Mora(1874 - 1940) He was born in Uruguay, moving to the US as a boy. His father was a sculptor. He became an illustrator in the late 1800s, Mora worked for major magazine such as Collier's, Sunday Magazine, Ladies' Home Journal, Century, Harper's, as well as books. His portrait of President Harding is in the White House. A gifted artist, painter and illustrator. This poster was later reissued in 1939. This is the first edition earliest printing.
