Original long format vintage poster: Babes in the Wood.
This is a very fun, large original antique stone lithograph poster for The Babes in the Wood. We have presumed this series (including other fairy tale images) was created to advertise some theatre shows. The target audience was probably comprised of adults, since most of the posters star beautiful women playing characters traditionally played by men and boys. This poster is an exception in the collection, as the scene shown here, with the children asleep in the woods, is quite innocent. The poster has been archival mounted on linen, and it is in wonderful condition.
The top white empty block was removed to make this a more manageable size and make the poster more appealing. (Note that the reduced size is 75.5" tall vs 90")
This is an original vintage poster, ready to frame. Linen backed, very good condition.
