Plinio Codognato Biography

Codognato has created some of the most striking posters ever seen. He was commissioned to design product advertisements for various merchants. His larger posters are rarely, rarely seen on the market.
In 1913 he created what will probably remain his most famous poster, the advertising billboard relating to the first performance of Verdi's Aida at the Verona Arena.
Towards the end of the First World War he moved to Milan. For about twenty years he was the official FIAT advertiser, creating, among other things, the Fiat magazine.
Among his most significant posters it is possible to mention, in addition to those for FIAT, those for Pirelli, Atala, OM, Circuito di Cremona, Cinzano, Campari, Marsala Florio, Liebig and Grafofoni Columbia.
