Pablo Picasso Biography
Pablo Picasso is not only a master artist, but the foremost figure in 20th Century Art. Even people who are not art connoisseurs, love his work, finding it pleasing and colorful. But it is a lot more than that. For that reason, it is a stretch to realize just what a stir Picasso's work caused. Picasso virtually invented abstraction and cubism at a time when one simply did not "do" that; paintings were supposed to be about "something" and look like what they were about. Picasso and the other 20th Century master changed all of that, freeing artists to express hopes, dreams, visions, and symbolic rather than literal representations of reality.
