Franciszek Starowieyski Biography
Franciszek Starowieyski was born in Cracow in 1930. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. The artist has won numerous awards including Internationale Biennale of the Arts, Sao Paulo 1973; the Cannes Film Festival poster award 1974; International Poster Biennale, Warsaw silver medal 1974 and 1978; International Chicago Film Festival, gold plaque for poster design 1979 and Film Poster Competition silver Hugo award 1982. Starowieyski's original works hang in many of the world's major museums and collections.
