Paul Jean Gervais, was born in Toulouse in 1859, pupil of Jean Léon Gérôme and Gabriel Ferrier he studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Toulouse in Paris, painted often genre paintings. He received many prices; the price of the salon in 1898, a gold meal in 1900, the Henner price in 1908. The museums of Toulouse and Marseille have paintings from him. Gervais painted the ceiling of the casino of Nice in France.
