Guy Arnoux

Guy Arnous (1890 - 1951) achieved a mesaure of success with stencil-colored zinc plate prints and with decorative style paintins on historic themes or serial concepts, such a ''Seven Capital Sins'' of ''Four Elements,'' and was an accomplished book illustrator as well.  However, he was at his best with the light touch:  long a prominent member of the Salon des Humoristes, he also helped to organize their annual feats.

His poster Les Vins de Bourgogne, for a wine merchant, reflects both his preoccupation with historic motifs and his humorous approach to lithography.
