A young British marine engineer, A. V. Roe, started aeronautical experiments in 1906. By 1907 he had constructed a macine which made short hops w=but was not a successful flyer. He redesigned the machine, and then in 1910 version with a 35 h.p. Green engine, flew quite well. |
