This is one of the loveliest posters for cycling that we have ever had. A powerful-looking griffon haunts the periphery of this vision, as we see a woman mounting her bicycle in a field at daybreak. The poster is in excellent condition, and it has been archivally mounted on linen.
In his art, Misti is often compared to both Cheret, for the lightness and grace of his touch, and to Cappiello, for his use of bold strokes and outlines. Among the great artists of his day, Misti was perhaps most famous for his direct and explicit style. |
