An original design by the great Steinlen, whose eye for everyday scenes on the sidewalks of Paris was unequalled. Here we have two ladies out shopping, stopping to browse at a jewellery shop window. His masterful drawings, hundreds of which were seen in publications across France including Gill Blas and Le Rire, demonstrate to us why he was considered one of the great draughtsmen among poster artists. Charles Matlack Price writes "An almost unerring excellence and accuracy of proportion are unconsciously felt in even his most fragmented sketches"
