Babes in the Wood.
This is a very fun, HUGE poster for The Babes in the Wood. We have presumed this series (including other fairy tale images) was created to advertise some theatre shows. The target audience was probably comprised of adults, since most of the posters star beautiful women playing characters traditionally played by men and boys. This poster is an exception in the collection, as the scene shown here, with the children asleep in the woods, is quite innocent. The poster has been archivally mounted on linen, and it is in wonderful condition. |
