Original. Linen backed. Lithograph. Printed in Germany. The Heidelberg Castle, as well as the river and town, framed through a view of poplar trees. Expansive skyline.
Born in 1888 in Aachen. He studied in Berlin and learned lithography in Leipzig.
In 1914 he worked as a fine art printer and in the 20's and 30's Wiertz became a reknown poster artist.
Wiertz worked on publicity for the German Reichsbahn and the Zeppelin production art designs and for Lufthansa. |
