Linen backed original travel to Japan poster in excellent condition. Shown with the deer relaxing in the Japanese garden; the pagodas in the background and wisteria draping the edges of this design. Artist signature in the lower left corner in Japanese. The Board of Tourist Industry was created in April 1930 with the Japanese Government Railways. The outbreak of war in 1939 and the cancellation of the Tokyo Olympic games in 1940 adversly affected tourism to Japan. |
