Pichat was a painter who specialized in historic scenes and military portraits, hence a bicycle company wishing to be associated in the public's mind with the Army evidently figured it would enhance their prestige to have a poster done by him. The poster is archivally mounted on linen and it is in excellent condition.
Before splitting into a seperate automobile company in 1894, Rochet's focus was on quality bicycles for the average man.
