This Cherette is out to prove that she's more than just another pretty face and does quite an admirable job of it as she sits down at the easel, palette in hand, to put the finishing touches on the shadow portrait of Adolphe Willette in this advertisement for an exhibition of the French artist's work. Cheret cleverly includes a feline friend cozying up to the model's derriere in a clever nod to Willette who was a frequent contributor ot the satirical publication, Chat-Noir. Cheret designed and printed this poster in its large format in 1888. This small version was printed in 1897.
