Napoleon at Austerlitz. This poster advertised the beginning of an illustrated series documenting Napoleon's life. When Century magazine did a illustrated life of Napoleon in 1893; Grasset was commissioned to design a poster to launch the series. The Emperor astsride a gallant white stallion. The image was also a big sensation in the United States. |
