Suffice it to say that their output provides sufficient insight into their sympathies. Colin’s design for the French Socialist party–the driving force behind the 5th Republic–is a paradigm of restraint and efficiency. With Marianne serving as the figurehead of the French political galleon, its forward progress decisively indicated with three scarlet-on-blue arrows, there can be little doubt that all concerned parties were sure of their cause, both artistic and politic. |
